0 ReviewsLeipzig's Museum of Fine Arts reopened in its new purpose-built centre in December 2004. The origins of the museum date back to the founding of the "Leipzig Art Association" by Leipzig art collectors and promoters in 1837.
Today's collection consists of 3,500 paintings, 750 sculptures and numerous graphic works. It includes paintings by old masters such as Lucas Cranach and Frans Hals, as well as paintings by artist such as Edgar Degas and Claude Monet.
In Modern Art, the museum looks at the Leipzig School by artists such as Werner Tübke, Bernhard Heisig, to upcoming popular artists such as Neo Rauch and Daniel Richter.

Tue, Thu - Sun 10.00am - 6.00pm
Wed 12.00pm - 8.00pm, Closed Monday
Free Admission to the permanent exhibitions
Admission Prices 10.00 euro, reduced 5.00 euros.
